Dear October,

Wednesday, October 1, 2014

Dear October,

It's really good to see you. Don't tell the others, but you've always been my favorite. Your warm, golden tones and crisp weather fill my heart with nostalgia and my mind with memories of pumpkin picking and cool nights curled up with a blanket and hot apple cider.

In only two weeks, I turn twenty one. Goodness. Where does the time go? I thought I would feel a little apprehensive. Twenty one sounds like an age where I'm supposed to have everything together, know what I want in life and where I'm going.

But alas...I don't have everything together, I still have no idea what I want and I don't know where I'll be an hour from now, let alone the years to come.

But I think that's okay. Instead, I feel incredibly appreciative. I'm happy to be where I am. To be able to appreciate the fall breeze that is softly brushing through my hair as I write. So here's to the little things. To being here. To appreciating every second.

I'm ready for you October, lets make twenty one the best yet.

I believe in a cup of coffee...

Sunday, September 29, 2013

I believe in a cup of coffee. Perhaps it is the rich aroma or even just the complete joy of the dark drink filling your body with an enjoyable warmth. I love that in the morning I can always look forward to starting off my day happily with a nice hot cup of coffee. I love that even if everything in my day is going wrong, the coffee is somehow the one thing that goes completely right. And even though I could go on and on about my fondness for the drink itself, (I am completely guilty of this fact), what I love most are the conversations shared over a cup of coffee.

Happy Sunday!

Fall has arrived!

Saturday, September 28, 2013

Fall has officially arrived, which makes me absolutely giddy with excitement! The leaves are changing; vibrant colors of red, orange and yellow are slowly replacing summer’s green hue. Bring on the scarves, boots, sweaters and seasonal coffee drinks!

My friend Morgan and I took a little road trip to her hometown this weekend. It was a lot of fun exploring the area she lives in, and I had the pleasure of tagging along on an engagement shoot she did!

Adventures were plentiful and time was filled with good conversations and a great deal of laughter!

Is It Fall Yet?

Tuesday, July 9, 2013

Summer is great, it really is. However, when July hits, all I can think about is fall. I know, crazy right?
I am and forever will be in love with all things fall. I think it has something to do with the coziness of the season.
(And possibly because I’m an October baby!)
Nonetheless, here are a few reasons for why fall is on my mind...

  Cozy clothing.
Comfy jeans, soft sweaters, leggings and boots; all foundations of what like what I wear on a relaxing weekend.
But in the fall, I can wear it everyday!

 Blankets
One of my favorite things to do is wrap up in a blanket, (in my cozy clothing of course),
and enjoy a steaming cup of coffee; book in hand!

Warm Drinks.
Starbucks salted caramel mochas, apple cider, tea, hot chocolate, and coffee. Enough said!

    Crisp air.
Not hot like summer or freezing like winter.

Bright colored leaves
Reds, yellows, oranges and browns. In the trees, on the ground, and flying through the air.
It’s what makes fall so beautiful!

Holidays.
To me, fall marks the beginning of the Holiday season.
First my birthday, then Halloween, followed by Thanksgiving and of course Christmas!

 The smell.
Brisk air, leaves, pumpkin, cinnamon, vanilla; all leave an essence of fall.

 Fall festivities.
Apple picking. Pumpkin patches. Football games. Hayrides.
Fall is the best time to bring out your inner five-year-old self!

Only 74 days until fall and I already can't wait!
What do you love about fall?
